Aki has used her skills in product development at seasoned Fortune 100 companies and plucky startups, alike, counseling engineering and product stakeholders in global data use and privacy while rolling up her sleeves to work with data scientists on ensuring that machine learning frameworks met the requirements necessary to be called “privacy by design.” One of the things that she is best at is translating tech concepts for those with no background in tech, such as interpreting between engineering and C-suite, a skill that has not only assisted her with public speaking but also made her an ideal liaison between lawyers and developers, data scientists, researchers, and others with no tech training. She enjoys discussing artificial intelligence and machine learning so much, that she’s written and spoken about it in the area of financial services, which is something of a passion for her.
She has managed all things related to privacy and product counseling, in addition to working with InfoSec executives to ensure customers remain protected and client reputations remain intact. In addition to CCPA and GDPR expertise, she expanded her privacy counseling skills to find solutions for privacy and data regulation in Asia and South America while developing an international privacy program for her start-up clients. Happily, her language skills in Spanish and Japanese have served her incredibly well.
